Brad Smith of Seferian Design brings us behind the scenes on the landscape architecture work that he has done within the GTA. This is a really exciting episode for us as we get to tour Waterloo park as it is being renovated. Brad believes that being a landscape architect has to be the best job out there. He explains how the work is an art of bringing a multitude of different skills and professionals together to be able to create a space that is inviting, beautiful, and functional. In this episode of What Do You Do we meet Sierra Noble, Riley Hill, and Rob Hill as they teach us a little bit about what it takes to be an audio engineer. We go behind the scenes in the No Fun Club in Winnipeg and witness how cool the studio is. Being an audio engineer is a profession that anyone can get into and anyone can start from home. There are free resources everywhere, but if you'd like more structure in your learning, there are specific schools that you can go to. Search up what schools might be in your area! It's always great to be reminded that a career is not only about the money, but how much you enjoy it. You'll spend the majority of your life working, so try to keep that in mind when choosing a career. But also don't feel like you have to get it right the first time! Lucas Roger teaches us about his journey that he is going on to become a guitar maker. We get to see his backyard shop, and some of the projects that he is working on. Lucas explains that it is very beneficial to have someone like his boss Al Beardsell as a mentor. In this episode of What Do You Do Emma takes us behind the scenes of managing the care for the Animals on the Red River Exhibition grounds. She takes care of goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, and so many more. At the time of filming, she was preparing for the Red River Exhibition in Winnipeg, an annual fair, where the animals will be on full display in the hopes of helping promote good welfare for farm animals. Working with animals can be such a rewarding profession, but it can also be a difficult field to get into depending on your path. Make sure to do your research into where you can go to school and your requirement so you can start down the right path.
